A few nice ones, lotta bites

Report Date: July 9, 2020

Fished my old friend Collins Gardner's son-in-law, Doug, and 9 year old grandson, Will this morning. Started on fairly low incoming, and had live shrimp. Our first drop was a bust, but went to a flat and got started. Caught a couple of small trout, plus one very nice keeper. Also had a couple of ladyfish hooked up that jumped off, thankfully, and Doug and Will each caught a big Bonnethead shark. Will had a very big Blacktip smash his bait, but the hook pulled shortly after the fight started. Next drop produced a nice 4 lb Black drum, and then hit a drop and Will caught his first Redfish, an upper slot fish, and released it. Caught a couple of more rat reds, and a bunch of small trout. Ended up with 3 reds, 12 trout, 1 black drum, 2 bonnetheads, and 1 bluefish. Fun morning on the water.
