Fished with Jim and Sandra, and daughters Chelsea and Hannah, and Justin this morning. Jim lets me turkey hunt every year, and this trip is my payback. All of them love to fish, and we had a really good trip today. The winds were howling, with a smallcraft advisory, when I put in the river, but it fell out at the top of high, and was really pretty in the afternoon. Started out on a trout drop, and they picked up a half dozen, but all were just short. Did have one bluefish in the box. Ran to the Bridge to try a bit, and Hannah was hooked up to a Cobia, I'm sure, but came unbuttoned. Caught several Bluefish before the tide got to running hard. Hit an old redfish drop, and it was game on. They caught 14, all in the slot, and we kept 6, the boat limit, for a fish fry. Hit one or two more drops with small trout and blues, then put a bonnethead in the boat, and Sandra had a big one cut her off after a good fight at the boat. I had live shrimp, gulps and cut shrimp for bait. Caught fish on all of them. Really fun crew to fish.
