Report Date: May 6, 2020

After a total disaster fishing on Monday, I had a trip today with some old clients from Hilton Head, Larry and Judy. Larry will be 87 this fall, but does pretty darn good. But Judy is tough to outfish. And she did have the numbers today, but Larry was able to sneak in the big fish. Our first drop was a zero, then hit the fish on the very top of the high tide and first outgoing. Used live shrimp under the popping cork, drifting a grass edge, and they caught some beautiful trout. Judy had one they measured a little over 23 inches, plus several in the 20 inch range. They kept 6 for a mess. Also had a slot redfish and a ladyfish off the first drop. As the winds were absolutely howling, ran to a bank a little hidden, and Larry put the 30 inch redfish in the boat. Our last drop we picked up 3 more upper slot redfish. Fun morning and glad to get the skunk out of the boat today.
