First Cobia trip

Report Date: May 2, 2020

Fished George and Allison today, trying for a cobia. Ran to #1 marker and caught bait, then fished several drops on the outgoing and very first of the incoming tide. Had them fishing light rods with shrimp for a while, and they caught a whiting, black sea bass, bluefish and a spanish mackerel on the sabiki rig. Never did have a run on the big rods, and spent over an hour cruising and sight fishing without seeing a fish. Quite a few boats at the bridge, but never saw a single cobia caught today.
