Charlie's 8th Birthday trip

Report Date: March 30, 2020

My neighbors youngest son Charlie turned 8 yesterday, and I had promised to take him fishing. He and his 9 year old brother and Dad jumped in with me this morning, and it was pretty nice so we headed to the open ocean. Went out to the wreck of the General Gordon, pulled up on one of my numbers and watched the fish finder screen light up like a Christmas tree. And it was on. The boys were hooked up constantly, fighting Bluefish (39), Weakfish (24) and Black sea bass (14). That's 77 fish. We kept a limit, one apiece, of the weakfish, as some of them were in the 3 to 4 pound range, and I cleaned them for their supper. If they can stay awake to eat! I may not be able to myself!
