Cold water Redfish

Report Date: February 23, 2020

Fished Bev and Price this morning, with a really chilly start. It was about 32 degrees when we left the landing. Still had an hour of incoming water to fish. Hit several different drops with out a bite, fishing mud minnows under the cork on the grass edges over shells. Finally hit a drop as the tide turned out, and they put in the boat and released 28 redfish. Had a few caught on a gulp under the cork and the rest on minnows. Left the bite to try and find some bigger fish, as these were all in the 16 to 18 range. My go to bigger fish spot had a boat pretty close to it, so tried some other drops. Finally went to an old drop, and Bev put a 10 lb fish in the boat, then Price a 24 inch fish weighing about 6 lbs. That ended up the morning on a pretty darn good note. Really two good fisherman, and very nice guys to work for.
