Fished with Kathy and her 8 year old grandson Cole today. Started late up in the morning to let the water fall out some as the bite has been on the falling tide. Hit a couple of quick drops without a touch, then ran to my honey hole. Started on the redfish, both on jigheads with live shrimp and on shrimp under the cork. Cole did a great job learning to work a bait in the current. Kathy started us off on the trout, and also had a very nice black drum that weighed 4 pounds. Hit a mud flat and found some trout in 2 foot of water on the way back in. Guess they were up shallow as the water was likely a little warmer on the mud. Ended up the morning with 19 redfish, 1 black drum, and about 8 trout. They kept a nice mess of fish for a fry. Fun afternoon with a very nice lady and a well behaved young man.
