Fished with my good friends today Jim Goller and Nic and Franklin. Went in Jims boat this morning. It was cold, around 35 degrees and a Northeast wind when we started. Went to a deep creek to try for trout. I caught 3 dinks and Jim one small redfish. The water temp has fallen to 48.5, and the trout were not on the feedbag. Hit one of Jims favorite redfish drops as the tide came in, and we caught them there and one other spot before calling it a day. Caught somewhere around 12 or 15, with most being lower slot fish, but did have a couple of high slot or just over fish. All came on mud minnows under the cork up against the grass. The water temps finally got a tad bit above 50 as the tide came in. Hopefully it will warm up a bit in the next week and the trout bite will turn back on. My experience is that once it gets below 50 degrees the bite almost quits completely. Fun day with some really good friends.
