back at it
Report Date: November 18, 2019
After cancelling oout the last 3 days due to lousy weather, I got back on the water today with Doug, Doug, and Cork. The water temps have fallen like crazy, showing 54 degrees this morning. I decided to start back on deep creek/trees pattern, and hit the first drop I hadn't fished since February. And they were home. Nice Redfish on the first cast of the morning, and it was on from there. Had low incoming to work with, and they put a country whupping on the fish for an hour or better. Had double hook ups several times. Not as many trout as I really expected to be there, the redfish and black drum were thick. Actually had a new tree that must have blown into my drop, as they broke off 4 fish before I got the boat positioned better. The tides for some reason were a lot higher than forecast, and we tried several other spots after the creek, only picking up a couple of trout. We ended the morning with 12 trout, 7 Black drum, 10 Redfish, and 2 sheepshead. Not too bad a morning. Live shrimp on jigheads was the ticket in the deep creeks.
