Fished Matt, Max, and Joey this morning. This is the second day since the cold front went through, and our water temps have fallen 4 degrees since Thursday. And man did the bite turn on. Had a fairly stiff NE wind, so fished the Beaufort River. Started out just as the tide turned to come back in, and it came clean. Our first drop was great. Used live shrimp and pearl gulps on a jighead, and put a whacking on the trout and redfish, and one very nice black drum. Fished 4 more drops, several of which I had never fished, and caught fish on all of them. As the water came up went to the Midcoast Evolution popping cork, and worked the current line with live shrimp. They ended up catching 34 trout, 23 Redfish, a bluefish and 2 black drum. Kept a good mess for a fish fry, as over half the trout were at the 14 inch minimum or bigger, with a 20 incher the biggest. Our biggest Redfish hit 8 lbs. Very fun morning of catching more than fishing.
