After Storm scout trip
Report Date: September 8, 2019
Got back on the water this morning after the hurricane. Took my neighbor Jeff Miller in the Broad River to see what the fish were doing. We hit a number of drops, using Vudu shrimp under the cork. Caught fish on most of the drops we tried, but none were really hot. We would catch a couple of reds, and a trout or two, right off the bat, then it would go cold on us. Did catch some shrimp late up in the trip, and same results with them. The water wasn't that pretty green color we have a lot of times after hurricanes, as we didn't have any storm surge. Was pretty ugly in places in fact. We ended up the morning with 11 Redfish and 8 trout, plus 3 ladyfish and a Jack crevalle. Had two reds in the slot, but all the trout were shorts.
