Fished a donated trip to the Hampton Fund today, bought by Kevin Bertelsen. His family, Jennie, Libby, and Jackson joined in. Started on the last of high tide, and found some very nice roe trout. They caught 8, and we had 5 very nice ones they kept for a meal. Caught them all on live shrimp under a cork. They were on top of a flooded grass island in around 6 feet of water. Wish I had found them a little sooner than I did. We tried for a Redfish in a spot or two, with no luck, and then put them on a couple of big bonnetheads as the kids wanted to catch one. Also had a bluefish and a couple of ladyfish hooked up. Fun morning with a very nice family. Jackson is on his way to the academy at West Point this summer. We wish him the best.
