Excellent Quality

Report Date: May 23, 2019

Fished a 5 boat trip this morning out of Dataw Marina. Its on the St Helena sound side, and I hadn't fished it for quite a while as I have been in the Broad River and Beaufort Rivers most of the time. Had a pretty slow and low incoming to start on. Fished with Kathy, Ron, Dan and Suzanne. Hit an old drop to start, and they picked up one nice slot Redfish, had another come off, plus two very nice sized trout. On to my next drop, and the big pretty trout were there. Not a bite every cast by any means, but just enough action to keep us busy. They put 1 Spanish Mackerel, 7 very nice trout, and a Blacktip shark boatside. Several of the trout were pushing 20 inches. Only had one under slot trout. Finished up the morning on a diffent drop with the biggest trout of the day, weighed at 4 and half pounds. She was packed with roe and we released her to spawn out. Very nice folks to fish. Caught everything on mud minnows drifted under a popping cork.
