After spending a few days in Oxford, Ms, watching my granddaughter graduate from Ole Miss, got back to work this morning. The weatherman must have been partying again last night, as he totally missed the winds. We had a small gale blowing from the East but managed to fish around the conditions. Ken Armstrong from Georgia was on the boat today, and is a very good fisherman, but had very limited experience in saltwater. We tried as many species as we could and came out pretty darn good. Started off the trip throwing soft plastics, and he caught 2 Cobia, 2 Spanish Mackerel and 2 bluefish to get us started. Tried my trout honey hole but it was muddy due to the winds. On to a redfish drop and ended up the morning hooking up 8 and putting 6 very nice ones in the boat. On to another trout drop, and caught 4 small ones. A ladyfish ended up the morning. Very enjoyable to see so many different species available in a small area. And a very nice gentleman to fish.
