Reds and Trout

Report Date: December 12, 2018

Fished Franklin and Scott this morning. Really cold when we started, in the mid thirties. The water temps were around 48 degrees. Started off on a redfish drop, and did really well for a bit. They put 7 good ones in the boat, along with one 19 inch trout, until we had company show up. Flipper decided he would get in on the action, and busted two different schools of fish right in front of us. Needless to say that put an end to the bite. Tried another drop or two, then ran to a deep creek with the tide still flowing in. Tried to throw jigs for trout with no luck as the tide was still running pretty hard. Set up on some trees and they started in on the redfish using live shrimp on jigheads on the bottom. Caught 7 more, and then the tide slowed and we switched out to Mirrolure lil johns in chartreuse, and put a whupping on the trout. We caught 25 or so, and they kept 9 nice ones for supper. Good day catching.
