Great trout bite scout trip

Report Date: December 7, 2018

Got back Wednesday from my annual trip to Louisiana. Fished three days there, and had a pretty good trip, even though we had really bad winds and cold for two of the three. Caught a lot of trout, and a good number of Redfish. I"ve included a photo of Larry Cowart, who had the biggest trout of the trip, a six and half pound fish. Caught it on Mirrodine. Had a several more in the three pound range. Fun trip. Had such a pretty day today I decided to throw the boat in the water about 11, and was back at the landing by 2. Caught 21 trout, and 5 Redfish. All were on the Norton Sand eel fished on the falling tide on a 1/4 oz jighead. The fish were on some docks and laying fairly deep. The water temps are down to 53 degrees, and the trout bite should stay good for a while now.
