Pretty good bite

Report Date: October 23, 2018

Fished with David and Paula Shuler this morning. Started out after the tide began to ebb. Although it wasn't forecast (as usual), the wind was blowing hard from the NE and had the river very rough. I elected to stay out of it and headed back to a flat that was somewhat protected. Hit a dock on the way, and Paula put the first fish of the day in the boat, and under slot Redfish. On up to my drop, and wasn't long until they were both hooked up. We stayed long enough for them to put about 14 nice Redfish in the boat, with Paula taking top spot for biggest with a 25 inch fish. We left them biting to try for trout , without a lot of success. My drop had a boat on it, so we looked at other places. They managed to put 8 or so in the boat, but only one over the minimum. We did get on a few more reds, and ended the day with 17 Redfish and 8 trout. Lotta fun with a very nice couple to fish, and darn good friends to boot.
